Maycol's baptism and pop rocks!

¡Hola Todos!

Just an update of little things that are happening.

So this week is was sooo hoot. haha. and with humidity its almost unbearable walking in the streets all day, but the good news, is that it lasts like this until the middle of february! haha.
Plus this past week I forgot to mention, we didnt have water in our house for almost a week! It was difficult, we had to bathe with buckets of water and wash our dishes outside. So it was kindof like camping! haha, but now we have water again, just the water pressure is not very strong.

It doesnt really feel like christmas here, one becuase its summer and the other is because they dont celebrate christmas like they do in the states. Its more of just a big party of the week of christmas with asados(barbacues), and drunk people. But we plan to celebrate it with a really nice member family here so it will be fun.

Oh and I get a special birthday and christmas gift this year, on the 23 of December all of the mission is going to the temple!!! wahooo!!! I have really missed going to the temple and cant wait! We are going to spend the whole day together as a mission so it will be fun!

But this week was good, I am a little more happy this week and grew from this experience, this transfer has been a little harder than the others but its so I can grow and learn with my faith I know.

Love Youuuu

This week we were able to have the baptism of Maycol! Maycol is a 21 year old young man from Bolivia who came here for better work. When I arrived here in Arco Iris the Elders had already been teaching him for about a week. In this moment, he was struggling with his faith and wasnt progressing or doing the commitments. And then one day we called him and he said that he had read and prayed and knew that it was true! From then on, we saw the change in him and he started to progress more and more until his baptism! My companion was able to baptize him and I was able to confirm him the next sunday!

Spritual Experience of the Week: So this week, we knocked on a door thinking it was the house of a reference and it turned out to be the house of a less active member with her nonmember husband. The wife is a member but works on Sunday and is inactive and the Husband, Anaquin, has never accepted the missionaries before. The husband was the only one there at the time and didnt want much to do with us, but after a bit, he let us in to give him a blessing of health. We ended up teaching him the first full lesson. From the time we entered and from the time we left, we were able to see a big change in him. The spirit was very strong in the lesson and he accepted a baptismal date for January. The next lesson, he had read and prayed and knew it was true! He came to church with us as well this past sunday.

Scripture of the Week: Mosiah 23:21-22 i think. I love this scritpure that talks about how The Lord gives us trials in our lives to test our faith and patience, so we can turn to him for help. This scripture has helped me a lot and it really is true. At times we have trails and challenges, but in these times we need to turn more to the Lord and we will grow from the experience!

Fact of the Week: Its really hot here right now.

Until next week!
